The once mighty BlackBerry is desperately trying to make a comeback in the smartphone market. It recently launched the BlackBerry Motion at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai. It is a full touchscreen phone and does not have BlackBerry’s signature physical keyboard. It is very much similar to BlackBerry KEYone which was launched recently. It’s a mid-range smartphone with a 5.5 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) DragonTrail glass display and non-removable 4000 mAh battery.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. Storage can be expanded via microSD card and supports USB Type-C port. The rear camera is 12-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. The front camera is 8-megapixel shooter with selfie flash. The home button lies at the bottom and does not have any fingerprint sensor.
The phone will cost $460
Initially, the phone will be available only in the Middle Eastern countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia. In terms of feature, the phone has “Smart Convenience Key” which brings up the frequently used apps based on location and need. It also has enhanced security features which BlackBeryy is known for. TCL Communications, the hardware manufacturer of BlackbBerry phones has not revealed its availability in other countries yet.
